GEN ART TO TAKE SUNDANCE BY STORM

Become a Gen Art Premier Member

In 9 days the Sundance Film Festival opens and Gen Art is geared up to be involved with some of the most exciting events occurring in Park City.

Kicking things off on Friday, January 18th, Gen Art and 7 For All Mankind will present the "7 Fresh Faces in Film" Celebration at the SKY360 by Delta venue on Main Street. This event will focus the spotlight on 7 rising actors who have films premiering at Sundance. The event is hosted by "Juno" director Jason Reitman (photo on right) and the 7 will be announced later this week. The event will be open to select VIP guests, as well as Co-Producer & higher level members attending Sundance.

The SKY360 by Delta will be the place to be at Sundance. During the day it houses the WireImage Portrait Studio where all acting and directing talent will be getting their Official Sundance Portraits taken. And in the evenings, Gen Art will be working with Delta to oversee 8 major film premiere events including private dinners for "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" with stars Sienna Miller, Peter Saarsgard, Mena Suvari & Nick Nolte, and "Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden" with the Weinstein Company and director Morgan Spurlock ("Super Size Me"); as well as premiere parties for "Pretty Bird" with stars Paul Giamatti, Billy Crudup, Paul Scheider and SNL's Kristen Wiig and "August" with stars Josh Hartnett, Noamie Harris, Adam Scott, and Gen Art alumni director Austin Chick ("XX/XY"). These events' invite lists are controlled by the films in question.

From January 18th - January 21st Gen Art and St. Ives will proudly host the St. Ives Sensory Spa & Gallery in Park City Utah. VIP guests will be treated to all-natural facials from celebrity aesthetician Jillian Wright. The beautiful Main Street space will be open to the public from 11am-5pm daily from the 18th-21st. Gen Art is curating an art exhibition within the gallery space of emerging female artists from around the country. Also inside visitors can check their email via WiFi, or charge their devices using our charging station and relax with complimentary refreshments on either our heated sun porch or cozy up to our indoor fireplace.

On Tuesday, January 22nd, Gen Art and Overture Films will present the premiere after-party for "Sleepwalkers" with Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Nick Stahl and Dennis Hopper at the St. Ives Sensory Spa and Gallery. This event is open to select VIP guests and Associate Producer & higher level members.

And finally on Wednesday, January 23rd, Gen Art and Delta Air Lines will present the Delta Fly-In Competition Celebration Party. The five finalist short filmmakers whose films are currently playing on all Delta in-flight entertainment systems for flights of 4 hrs or longer (and also available for viewing and voting at www.delta.com/flyinmovies). Voting ends on January 15th (so go check it out!). The five finalists are being flown out to Sundance for the celebration where one winner (based on passenger and website visitor voting) will receive a prize package from Delta worth more than $15,000. This event is open to select VIP guests and Associate Producer and higher level members.

If you are attending the Sundance Film Festival and are not a premiere member of Gen Art...isn't it time you became one!

VOTE FOR "ART IN MOTION" SHORT FILM COMPETITION

We've all caught snapshots and party video of our friends on our camera phones, but Gen Art and Nokia Nseries have taken this idea to the next level. Join us as we unveil three short films shot entirely on the N95 device. Three Gen Art alumni filmmakers accepted the challenge to capture their creative vision at Gen Art's star studded "Art in Motion" exhibition opening party at the A+D Museum in Los Angeles last December.

Check out their finished films and vote for your favorite: www.genart.org/artinmotion. Voting ends 1/18/08.

PULSE FEATURE: NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS, GEN ART-STYLE

This year I'm going to hit the gym more. Drink a little less Diet Coke. Stop shopping like it's my last day on earth and I'm using Monopoly money. All noble gestures, but admittedly, a little lame. Which got me thinking, what are some of Gen Art's favorite emerging talents going to do to improve themselves in the coming year? Click here to check out better (and much more creative!) responses from Ari Gold, Claw Money, Ken Courtney and Alison Sudol.

Gen Art is proud to invite Gen Art Platinum & Higher Level Members to a Collector's Circle Private Preview and Reception of the work of Hope Gangloff.

The paintings and drawings of Hope Gangloff faithfully illustrate a life lived. Though drawn from casual snapshots, each work suggests a constructed mise-en-scene whose actors, props and sets have been drawn directly from central casting. Every scrap of wallpaper, each cigarette or paper lantern, every expression and gesture is lavished with care and attention. It is this obsessive attention to detail that propels the work beyond the familiar into the realm of the surreal.

On a cold and rainy Tuesday, December 18th, Gen Art Platinum and Higher Level members attended a private reception and viewing of Hope From A Dark Place by artist Slater Bradley at the respected Blum & Poe Gallery in Culver City. The exhibition included videos, sculpture and drawings that were to suggest an elegiac awareness that looked to opposition to decipher duality. One of the videos featured Bradley's take on the classic song "Singing in the Rain" from the film of the same name, which echoed the very wet weather outside. Jack Black stars in Be Kind Rewind, a one-of-a-kind comedy from the mind of writer/director Michel Gondry (Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Black stars as a loveable loser stuck in a life that's too small for his big dreams. But when he unintentionally erases all the tapes in a video store where his best friend works, he devises a plan to satisfy the store's few loyal customers by re-creating and re-filming every movie they decide to rent.

Parisian art gallery, Galerie Bertin-Toublanc, opened their first U.S. branch in the Wynwood Arts District this past December during Art Basel. The gallery is a 17,000 square foot space with multiple galleries for individual exhibits. Founder, Armelle Bertin-Toublanc maintains the vision for the gallery through her choice of artists. They are unique, immediately recognizable, profoundly human, sometimes ravaged, always contrary, but never cynical. For more information, log on to www.galeriebertin.com.

Ruinart is the first producer of Champagne, officially founded in 1729. As the oldest Champagne house, Ruinart has been enjoyed by rulers throughout Europe, and most notably the Empress Josephine. Throughout the centuries of its lively history, Champagne Ruinart has continued to grow in renown, even as production remains limited by their demands for quality. As always, it is known first for the quality of its wines and for their finesse, based on the exceptional Chardonnay grapes that provide its backbone.
