SHOP NYC + STYLES 2009: DESIGN VISION AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Styles 2009 and Shop NYC combined forces for a joint event taking place on December 2 at 7 West Lofts before over 1,000 members of the fashion industry, press and fashion forward consumers.

The Styles portion featured two looks from each of 25 finalists, selected from over 1,000 worldwide submissions, were the most geographically diverse in the competition’s history. These aspiring designers hailed from Turkey, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Israel and Taiwan, with U.S. designers from New York & Los Angeles.

9 judges were on hand including designers Victoria Bartlett, Douglas Hannant, James Coviello, Justin Chang, Wenlan Chia of Twinkle, and Michelle Siwy; Elle's Anne Slowey; Style expert Katrina Szish, and "Ford Supermodel of the World" Hyoni Kang. Emmy Award winner CW Morning reporter / anchor Tamsen Fadal was the Award's Host.

AND THE WINNERS ARE...

The Shop NYC portion of the event which took place in a separate area of the 20,000 sq ft space, featured 50 emerging designers in accessories and womenswear selling their wares directly to attendees at discounted prices.

Supporting the combined event were Ecru New York (hair styling), Sephora (cosmetic team), Bud Lite Lime, Cole Haan, Honest Tea, Ménage à Trois wines, Michael Antonia Footwear, New York Magazine, New York Observer, Potocki Vodka, and Vicram Chatwal Hotels. And model agency partners Elite, IMG Models, New York Models, and Wilhelmina.
