Art Therapy

Talking to artists makes us think about life. Here’s a little wisdom from Curtis Frillmann

What inspired this body of work?
I really tried to use the shows concept as a point of departure for the piece that's in it. Mundane things have a very prominent role in my process. Most of my work always starts with a very simple notion.

What would you like people to think about when they look at your work?
It’s really all about what the viewer brings to the piece. I'm always trying to evoke "something" but that process varies from piece to piece just as interpretations vary from viewer to viewer. I’m usually just trying to lead the viewer in a direction. It's up to them where it goes after that.

What are three things you can't live without?
Music, art and my girlfriend.

Favorite drink?

Vodka.

Favorite new album?

Fleet Foxes is always in heavy rotation for me.
