Faraci Art + Design invites Gen Art Producer-level members to the artist reception and after-party for Cactus World. Having emerged out of Europe's underground art scene, Chamane's work has responded to the growing demand for modern urban-expressionism. Cactus World is Chamane's commentary on the rising political and social changes in the world. The cacti represent icons in art, pop culture, and politics. The exhibit will also feature a graff wall by local Los Angeles street artist and graphic designer Kempt.
About Chamane
Born in 1974 from a Cuban father and an Italian-French mother, Chamane grew up in the French Riviera. He then studied at the Polytechnic School of Design in Milan, where he received a degree in Design and Interior Architecture. Influenced by the Underground and American Pop movements, Chamane considers his works as totems or as open windows on a world underlining the paradoxes and the ambiguities of the universal symbols that dominate on our modern society and transform the human being in consumerism.
Cactus World runs from May 9 - May 29, 2009. Open Viewing during the Downtown Artwalk, Thursday May 14, 2009 and by appointment. Visit info@faraciart.com or call 310.490.6650 for more information.
