What inspires your designs?
Music is the biggest inspiration for me in both design and in daily life. It’s ironic because music isn’t inherently visual but it is at the same time. Music that’s inspiring our current line right now is Passion Pit, Matt and Kim, Phoenix and so many more. I’m also inspired by very forward interior design, amazingly elegant contemporary ambiance from hotels to restaurants to homes. Kelly Wearstler is genius; she’s so bold and fearless and does not go with the status quo.

Is there a certain girl who embodies this collection?
We like to play off the irony that is inherent in every woman. Fashion should express the multidimensional facets of a person. We love that one can be elegantly punk rock as well as a bohemian-chic free spirit all at the same time.

Can you explain your design process?
We have a creative loft space in Santa Monica that is nine blocks from the beach. If you were to visit you would find dogs running around the office, cupcakes, disco balls, handmade chandeliers and vintage wallpaper. We have an entire office wall dedicated to inspiration.

What was your favorite Spring 2010 collection?
Balmain.

What's your favorite bag of all time?
My favorite bag of all time is the Chanel 2.55. My favorite bag of my collection is the new Olivia.

Three things you can’t live without?
Music, Malibu and love.
