NIGHT FIVE // FEATURE FILM

Punching the Clown

Directed by: Gregori Viens

Starring: Henry Phillips, Ellen Ratner, Audrey Siegel, Matthew Walker, Guilford Adams,Wade Kelley, Evan Arnold, Mik Scriba, Mark Cohen

Gen Art brings you the Slamdance Film Festival Audience Award winner: Punching the Clown is Flight of the Concords, L.A. style – a comedy in the vein of Judd Apatow ("Knocked Up") and Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm", with a little something extra: all-original music.

Henry’s future isn’t too bright. Living out of his car and singing his twisted “folk” music to anyone who will listen (which is not many), Henry hits rock bottom with a booking mix-up sends him to a Christian fundraiser.

Out of options, Henry ends up on his brother’s couch in L.A.  After gigs ranging from laughable to the dangerous (having to play Batman at a kindergarten birthday party), his luck suddenly seems to change for the better. But as Henry soon discovers, as have so many others (can anyone say Brittany),  the record industry can turn on you at a moment's notice.
